Services at the intersection of mental health and career

How can I support you?

Career Coaching

Career coaching is for you if you want support and guidance in exploring your career options or searching for and landing a job. I meet with coaching clients weekly or biweekly for one-on-one sessions on a secure virtual platform. Coaching is available to clients located anywhere in the United States.

Our sessions are collaborative and flexible, with an underlying structure that aligns with your goals. I weave mindset and skill-based modules into our time together, while leaving space for what you want to bring into each session to work on.

Depending on your unique situation, your coaching sessions may include career assessments, professional network development, job search strategy sessions, resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn optimization, job interview preparation, and more.

Career coaching is not therapy or counseling, and is not designed to diagnose or treat mental illness. If you are already engaged in therapy, I will collaborate with your current provider to make sure I am supporting their treatment plan for you.

Mental Health Therapy

Mental health therapy is for you if you are struggling with anxiety, stress, overwhelm, depression, or self-esteem issues. Together, we will get a deeper, judgment-free understanding of your struggles, and chart a clear course for positive change.

I meet with therapy clients weekly for one-on-one sessions on a secure virtual platform. Mental health therapy is available to residents of Pennsylvania only.

In therapy, you can expect me to use these evidence-based treatments:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help you feel better by shifting your thoughts and actions to promote well-being

  • Mindfulness can help you tune into the present moment, move through difficult emotions in a healthy way, detach from unhelpful thoughts, and uncover your inner wisdom

As a certified career counselor, I have specific expertise that can help you establish healthier work-life balance, manage stress, overcome imposter syndrome, recover from or prevent burnout, get in touch with your career values, and navigate career transitions.

FAQs

  • Great question! The biggest differentiation is that mental health therapy, sometimes referred to as psychotherapy or counseling, is healthcare designed to diagnose and treat mental illness such as anxiety and depression. At this time, my mental health therapy services are only available to Pennsylvania residents.

Career coaching is focused solely on managing specific career situations happening in the present and working towards short- and long-term career goals in the future. My coaching clients often come to me with the intention of exploring their career options or landing a new job, and we work through customized learning modules until they have reached their specific goal. Career coaching, or any kind of coaching, is not designed to diagnose or treat mental illness.

Wondering what type of service you need? The fastest way to figure this out is to schedule a consultation call, and we can figure it out together.

  • Most weeks, I meet with clients within the following hours:
    - Tuesdays 4p-7p EST
    - Wednesdays 9a-5p EST
    - Thursdays 7a-1p EST

If you have a specific scheduling need or concern, please bring it up during your consultation call and we can discuss what may be possible.

  • It depends on each client’s goals! I recommend that any client commits to a minimum of 4 sessions so we can get to know each other and start building momentum towards their goals.

Generally, I work with career coaching clients over an average of 8-16 sessions, however, some people choose to stay with me longer.

For mental health therapy, treatment can last longer depending on the issues you want to work on and how you want to use therapy. Some folks prefer a short course of treatment (12-24 session) to focus on a very specific goal, while others like to use therapy as a long-term tool and may continue for over the course of several years.

As a client, you can end services at any time and there is never an obligation to schedule another session.

  • I do not take insurance. Insurance companies do not cover career coaching or some elements of career-focused therapy sessions, and would require me to diagnose clients during their first session. I find that working outside of insurance allows me to be more flexible in working with clients, and custom-tailor solutions to fit their needs more effectively.

All clients keep a credit/debit card on file with me, which is automatically charged through a secure platform after their scheduled appointment.

If you are a mental health counseling client in PA and you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, I can provide a superbill for you at your request to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. To find out if you are eligible for reimbursement, please contact your insurance company directly.

  • At this time, I do not work with clients under the age of 18. If you are seeking career/college guidance for someone younger than 18, feel free to use my contact form to reach out to me, and I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.

  • Our first session will be 90 minutes. During our first meeting, I’ll take the lead. We’ll spend our time reviewing in detail how we will work together and establishing a good foundation for our future work together. You’ll fill out some paperwork beforehand so we have a good jumping off point for conversation, and I’ll ask you a lot of background questions so I can understand the context of your life better.

If you are a client in the state of Pennsylvania, your first session will also include a mental health screening.

By the end of our first session, if either of us feels like it’s not a good fit, I will help you get connected with resources that better fit your needs.
